Some people want to express or write an opinion to others. Sometimes, they get confused when starting it. It makes them fail to write or speak it. You need to train yourself to write opinions or arguments. You can express opinions to others. You can consider the things about an opinion before you express it.

What Is an Opinion?

An opinion is meant to be an argument about something that can be expressed orally or in speech. Thus, for most people to convey opinions orally, you should learn to express opinions in speech. It helps you to show that you have a good point of view in understanding something. A point of view is useful for giving opinions which it produces and determines the expressed opinions. It can be an agreement or a decrement of something. Different opinions are something common because people do not always agree with one’s opinions. Thus, everyone must respect one’s argument to avoid quarrels or debates due to opinion differences.

Characteristics of Opinions

You must be an expert on some characteristics of opinions before expressing opinions to others both speech or oral.

1.     Subjective

An opinion has a subjective feature because it takes a side. An opinion is usually beneficial on one side so the information details are sometimes imbalanced. If the provided information is not balanced, it can be said that it is not neutral. However, for some people, there will be neutral opinions to express. Because an opinion is subjective, the readers or listeners will find some opinions in the same event. It may happen because every opinion maker has a different background in responding to one event. You must see the background of an opinion maker to get neutral information.

2.     Personal Opinion

An opinion is like a personal argument or opinion. The person expressed an opinion due to her background and experience. Thus, you can see and know who expresses an opinion. Besides the experience, a point of view is crucial to make a personal opinion for others. By listening to an opinion, you will see a new point of view for a happening event. You can receive a different opinion. The point of view will be broad when you give it.

3.     Explaining a Particular Thing

If you talk about information or opinion, you only describe particular things. The things can be objects. An opinion is due to a happening trend. You will give an opinion ahead of the happening phenomenon or object. In an object or phenomenon trend, you will see some opinions.

Types of Opinions

There will be some kinds of opinions that you can express in a forum. What are they?

1.     A Personal Opinion

A personal opinion is one’s opinion. It is not influenced by other people seeing a phenomenon. It is a real point of view of a person before she/he explains their opinions.

2.     A Group Opinion

A group opinion is an argument or response coming from a group when they see a happening event.

3.     A Public Opinion

Public opinion is an argument in responding to one event from someone talking to the others.

4.     A General Opinion

It is an opinion or response understandable by many people. It applies generally on some occasions.

5.     Political Opinion

It is a political view of oneself.

How to Write an Opinion

Everyone has their own ways to write an opinion. If you start to write an opinion, you can follow the right way.

1.     Gathering Data

The first way to write an opinion is by gathering data. Before you study data, you need to collect the data to convince the truth of your opinion. You can get data from media and research. The collected data can give you more references to write an opinion.

2.     Doing Data Research

The next step is doing data research. This step is very crucial because you will strengthen your opinion with facts and information details. In addition, data research will help you to determine an opinion’s direction and deal with the theme to write an opinion.

3.     Determining a Strong Argument

After gathering and researching data, you will form a strong argument. If the opinion is a personal argument in response to a phenomenon, you must form a strong argument by following the others’ arguments.

4.     Determining a Perspective or Point of View You should determine your point of view when you write an opinion. Your opinion is to recognize your characters.
